Is Your Avalanche Stalling or Refusing to Start?

You turn the key, the engine cranks, but it just won’t fire up. Or maybe it starts, but then sputters and dies unexpectedly at a stoplight. These are frustrating and dangerous symptoms that I’ve seen hundreds of times in my 20+ years as a technician. Before you jump to the conclusion that you need a new, expensive fuel pump, you need to look at the component that controls it: the Fuel System Control Module (FSCM).

A customer’s 2011 Silverado 1500 came into my shop last month with these exact symptoms. He had already replaced the fuel pump himselfโ€”a tough jobโ€”but the problem persisted. His scanner showed a P069E code, indicating a fault in the FSCM. These modules are mounted on the truck’s frame rail, exposed to years of water, salt, and vibration, which leads to internal failure. We installed one of our VIN-programmed FSCMs, and the truck fired right up and ran perfectly. He could have saved himself a full weekend of work and the cost of a fuel pump by diagnosing the FSCM first.

The Simple, Reliable Fix for Your 2010-2012 Avalanche 1500 FSCM

This isn’t just a replacement part; it’s a complete solution. We take a genuine GM Fuel System Control Module and program it specifically to your vehicle’s VIN using the latest GM software updates. This process ensures perfect communication with your truck’s powertrain control module (PCM) and resolves the software glitches that contributed to the original failure. You get a part that is truly plug-and-play, with no need for an expensive trip to the dealership for programming.

  • โœ” Eliminate Common Symptoms: A direct solution for no-start conditions, engine stalling, hesitation, and diagnostic trouble codes like P069E, P0230, and U0109.

  • โœ” Latest GM Software: Loaded with the most current software from General Motors to improve fuel delivery logic and long-term reliability.
  • โœ” Broad Compatibility: This module, part number 20850927, is a direct replacement for part numbers 20791901, 20827745, and 20877116, fitting a wide range of GM trucks and SUVs.

Plug-and-Play Installation: No Dealer Visit Required

Replacing the FSCM is a straightforward job you can do in your own driveway. On most GM trucks like the Avalanche, Silverado, and Sierra, you’ll find it mounted to the driver’s side frame rail, near the spare tire.

  1. Safety First: Disconnect the negative terminal from your vehicle’s battery.
  2. Locate the Module: Find the FSCM on the inside of the driver-side frame rail. It’s a small silver box with two electrical connectors.
  3. Disconnect and Remove: Carefully press the tabs to release the two electrical connectors. Then, remove the bolts holding the module to the frame.
  4. Install the New Module: Bolt the new, pre-programmed FSCM into place. Reconnect the two electrical connectors until they click securely.
  5. Final Step: Reconnect the negative battery terminal. Turn the key to the ‘On’ position for 10 seconds before starting to allow the system to initialize. Start your engine and enjoy a smooth-running truck!

How It Works

After you complete your purchase, simply send us a message with your vehicle’s 17-digit VIN. Our technicians will use this information to access the official GM database and flash the module with the precise software your vehicle requires. This guarantees seamless integration and performance right out of the box. Restore the reliability of your truck’s fuel system and get back on the road with confidence.
