Frequently Asked Questions

Get quick answers to common questions about our VIN-programmed GM modules.

🚗 About Our Products

What does “VIN Programmed” mean?

Every GM module (ECM, TCM, BCM, FPCM) we sell is programmed with YOUR vehicle’s VIN before shipping. This means the module arrives ready to install—no dealer programming required. We use the same GM factory tools that dealerships use.

What types of modules do you sell?

We specialize in GM control modules including:

  • ECM/PCM – Engine Control Module / Powertrain Control Module
  • TCM – Transmission Control Module
  • BCM – Body Control Module
  • FPCM – Fuel Pump Control Module
  • EBCM – Electronic Brake Control Module

Are your modules new or used?

Our modules are high-quality used/refurbished units sourced from low-mileage vehicles. Each module is tested, cleaned, and professionally programmed before shipping. Used modules offer significant savings over dealer prices while providing the same functionality.

📦 Ordering & Shipping

How long does shipping take?

Handling Time: 1-3 business days (Monday-Friday)
Shipping Method: USPS Priority Mail (2-3 business days in transit)

Most orders arrive within 3-6 business days total. You’ll receive tracking information once your order ships.

What information do you need to process my order?

We need your complete 17-digit VIN to program your module correctly. You can enter this during checkout. The VIN is located:

  • On your dashboard (visible through the windshield, driver’s side)
  • On the driver’s door jamb sticker
  • On your vehicle registration or insurance card

Where can I find the Service Number on my GM module?

The Service Number (also called Part Number) is printed on a label on your current module. It typically starts with numbers like 12345678 or similar. Having this number helps us confirm compatibility, but your VIN is the most important piece of information.

🔧 Installation & Technical

How difficult is installation?

Module installation is typically straightforward—usually just unplug the old module and plug in the new one. Most ECMs and TCMs are accessible under the hood or inside the vehicle. No special tools are usually required. We recommend disconnecting the battery before installation.

Will I need to do a Passkey/Security Relearn?

For BCM replacements on vehicles with anti-theft systems, a security relearn procedure is often required. This is a simple process you can do yourself:

  1. Insert key and turn to ON (don’t start)
  2. Wait 10-15 minutes until security light turns off
  3. Turn key OFF, then repeat 2 more times
  4. On the third cycle, start the vehicle

ECM and TCM replacements typically don’t require a security relearn since we program them with your VIN.

What if the module doesn’t work?

Contact us immediately! We stand behind our products. If you receive a defective module, we’ll send a replacement or provide a full refund—and we cover return shipping for defective items. See our warranty policy for full details.

↩️ Returns & Warranty

What is your return policy?

30-Day Return Window: You have 30 days from delivery to return a module.

  • Defective modules: Full refund, we cover return shipping
  • Changed mind/ordered wrong part: 25% restocking fee applies (module must be uninstalled and in original condition)

What warranty do you offer?

We offer a 1-Year Warranty on major modules (ECM, PCM, TCM, BCM, FPCM). The warranty covers manufacturing defects and programming issues. Physical damage, water damage, or improper installation are not covered.

Do you charge a core deposit?

No core charges! You keep your old module. No need to return it.
