Body Control Module (BCM) Replacement Guide

Electrical Gremlins?

Lights flashing? Door locks possessed? Battery draining overnight? When your vehicle’s nervous system acts up, the Body Control Module is usually the culprit.

The Gatekeeper of Your Cabin

The Body Control Module (BCM) acts as a gateway for all your vehicle’s “creature comforts.” It controls security, lighting, door locks, windows, wipers, and even the radio. It also stores your vehicle’s mileage and security key data.

🛑 Signs Your BCM is Fried

  • Parasitic Draw: Your battery dies overnight because the BCM stays “awake.”
  • Security Lockout: The “Security” light is on and the truck won’t start.
  • Possessed Electronics: Wipers turn on by themselves, or door locks cycle rapidly.
  • Cluster Issues: Warning lights dance on the dashboard.

👨‍🔧 Pro Tip: Check for Water

“On many vehicles, the BCM is located in the kick panel or under the dash. If you have a sunroof leak or a bad windshield seal, water drips directly onto this computer. Fix the leak first! Otherwise, you’ll just fry the new module too.”

Cloning vs. Programming

We offer two solutions for BCMs:

1. PRE-PROGRAMMED (New/Reman):

  • ✔ We program it to your VIN.
  • ✔ Best if your old unit is missing or totally dead.
  • ✔ Requires a Key Relearn (instructions included).

2. CLONING SERVICE (Repair):

  • ✔ You send us your original module.
  • ✔ We copy EVERYTHING: VIN, Mileage, Key Codes, and Radio settings.
  • Zero setup required. Plug it back in and go.
