Restore Peak Performance to Your GM Truck or SUV
How do I provide my VIN?
After completing your purchase, you will receive instructions on how to send us your vehicle’s 17-digit VIN. We cannot program or ship your module without it.
What is a VTD or security relearn?
The Vehicle Theft Deterrent (VTD) system links your key, ignition, and ECM. When you replace the ECM, the system may prevent the car from starting as a security measure. A relearn procedure, done with a professional scan tool, re-establishes this link. This is a standard procedure for this type of repair.
Is this a plug-and-play part?
Because we pre-program it to your VIN, it’s as close as it gets. However, due to the integrated security systems on these vehicles, the final VTD relearn and potentially other setup procedures (like crankshaft variation) must be performed by the installer after the part is in the vehicle. This is not a defect but a required step.
Will this fix my check engine light?
If the check engine light is caused by a faulty ECM (common codes P0601, P0606), then yes, this part will resolve the issue. However, you should always ensure other potential problems (sensors, wiring) have been ruled out for a complete diagnosis.
What if I order the wrong part?
Providing your VIN helps us ensure compatibility. We use it to verify that this 2017 Tahoe Engine Control Module is the correct part for your specific vehicle before we program and ship it, minimizing the chance of errors.
