Common Signs of a Failing BCM in Your Van
From the Fleet Service Bay
I remember a 2011 Savana 2500 from a local plumbing company that came into my shop. The complaint was ‘the van is possessed.’ The dome lights would stay on, draining the battery overnight, and the power locks worked only when they wanted to. The driver had to manually lock every door. After checking the basics—fuses, relays, and wiring—my scan tool pointed to communication loss with the BCM. We installed one of these pre-programmed modules, and in under an hour, every function was restored. The company avoided a costly dealership visit and, more importantly, got their van back on the road earning money the next day.
