Restore Your Truck’s Four-Wheel Drive with a Reliable, Programmed TCCM
Real-World Repair Story
A contractor brought his 2011 Silverado 2500 HD into my shop, completely stuck in 4-Hi. He couldn’t get it to shift back to 2WD, which was killing his fuel mileage and causing binding on dry pavement. His dash switch was unresponsive, and the “Service 4WD” light was on. A quick scan with my diagnostic tool pulled code U0102 – Lost Communication with Transfer Case Control Module. After verifying the power and ground at the TCCM connector were good, the diagnosis was clear. The original module had failed internally, a common issue I’ve seen from moisture intrusion or simple electronic fatigue. We installed one of our VIN-programmed modules, and within 15 minutes, the 4WD system was cycling perfectly. The customer was back on the road, relieved to have avoided a costly dealer visit.
