Is Your GM Truck or Van Acting Possessed?
Are you dealing with a frustrating mystery of electrical problems? Maybe your power windows have a mind of their own, the interior lights flicker randomly, or the security light stays on, preventing your vehicle from starting. These aren’t just annoyances; they’re classic signs of a failing Body Control Module (BCM). The BCM is the central command for your vehicle’s body electronics, and when it goes bad, it can cause chaos. In my 20+ years as a technician, I’ve seen these exact issues hundreds of times in Silverado, Sierra, Express, and Savana models from this era.
The Simple, Reliable Fix: A VIN-Programmed BCM
Forget expensive diagnostic fees and the hassle of towing your vehicle to a dealership for programming. We offer a true plug-and-play solution. This Body Control Module is meticulously tested and programmed with the latest GM software specifically for your vehicle’s VIN. You get a part that’s ready for installation right out of the box, restoring your vehicle’s functions and getting you back on the road with confidence.
Expert Pro Tip: Check for Water Intrusion First!
Before you install your new BCM, take a moment to inspect the area around the old one, especially in trucks where it’s under the dash. A common killer of these modules is water leaking from a bad windshield seal or a clogged cowl drain. You’ll often see rust stains or a chalky residue on the old module’s case or connectors. Fixing the source of the leak before installing the new part can save you from having to do this job all over again in a year.

Simple Installation & Required Procedures
Installing your new BCM is straightforward. However, to ensure all systems communicate correctly and for your safety, a couple of post-installation procedures are necessary and require a bi-directional scan tool.
- Safety First: Disconnect the negative battery terminal and wait 10 minutes for the system to discharge.
- Locate the BCM: On most trucks (Silverado/Sierra/SSR), it’s located under the driver’s side of the dashboard. On vans (Express/Savana), it’s typically behind the center dash panel.
- Swap the Module: Carefully unplug the electrical connectors from the old BCM and remove it. Connect the new, pre-programmed BCM and secure it in place.
- Reconnect Battery: Re-attach the negative battery terminal.
- CRITICAL – Airbag System Reset: You MUST perform the ‘Setup SDM Primary Key in BCM’ procedure using a professional diagnostic tool. This step is essential to clear the airbag warning light and ensure the safety system is operational.
- Brake Sensor Check: Some vehicles may require a ‘Brake Pedal Position Sensor Relearn’ procedure. This ensures the brake lights and stability control systems function correctly with the new module.
Please Note: If you are not comfortable performing these relearn procedures, we strongly recommend seeking assistance from a qualified local mechanic. Providing them with a pre-programmed module still saves significant time and money.
