Is Your Truck Running Rough? Get a Reliable Powertrain Control Module.

If your 2003-2006 Yukon XL 1500, or another compatible GM truck, is suffering from baffling issues like stalling at red lights, harsh or delayed transmission shifts, a persistent check engine light with random codes, or even a frustrating no-start condition, the problem often points directly to a failing Powertrain Control Module (PCM). As the central computer for your engine and transmission, when the PCM starts to fail, it can create a cascade of problems that are difficult to diagnose. You’re not just buying a part; you’re buying a solution to get your truck’s reliability back.

The Simple, Dealer-Free Solution

Forget about towing your vehicle to a dealership and paying high costs for diagnostics and programming. We provide a direct-fit replacement PCM that arrives at your door ready to install. We handle the critical programming for you. Simply provide us with your vehicle’s 17-digit VIN during checkout, and our technicians will flash the module with the latest, most stable GM-certified software specific to your truck. This ensures all factory performance and emissions parameters are perfectly restored.

From the Shop Floor: A Real-World Scenario

“A customer’s 2005 Silverado 1500 came into my shop last week with these exact symptomsโ€”it would crank but not start, and the fuel gauge was acting erratically. The owner had already replaced the fuel pump with no luck. We quickly identified that the PCM was not sending the signal to the fuel pump relay. This is a classic failure I’ve seen on hundreds of these GMT800 trucks. The internal drivers on the circuit board fail from years of heat and vibration. We installed one of our pre-programmed PCMs, performed the security relearn, and the truck fired right up and ran smoother than it had in years. This is the fix.”

Why Choose Our Pre-Programmed 2003-2006 Yukon XL 1500 PCM?

Choosing the right PCM is critical. Our process guarantees that the module you receive is not just a generic replacement. By using your VIN, we ensure the calibration file matches every specific option your vehicle was built withโ€”from the engine and transmission type to the axle ratio and tire size. This precision is key to restoring the performance and efficiency you expect from your truck.

Easy Installation Guide: Get Back on the Road in Under an Hour

You don’t need to be a master mechanic to install this part. With basic hand tools, you can complete this job in your own driveway.

  1. Safety First: Disconnect the negative terminal from your vehicle’s battery and secure it away from the post.
  2. Locate the PCM: On most compatible trucks and SUVs (like the Silverado, Tahoe, and Yukon), the PCM is located under the hood on the driver’s side, typically mounted to a bracket below the battery tray. You may need to remove the air intake box for easier access.
  3. Disconnect the Harnesses: The PCM has several large electrical connectors, often color-coded. They have locking levers or tabs. Carefully lift the levers to release the connectors and pull them straight out. Never force them.
  4. Remove the Old PCM: Unbolt the PCM from its mounting bracket and remove it from the vehicle.
  5. Install the New PCM: Mount your new, pre-programmed PCM onto the bracket and securely reconnect the electrical harnesses. Ensure they click firmly into place. Reinstall any other components you removed, like the airbox.
  6. Reconnect Battery: Reattach the negative battery terminal.
  7. Perform Security Relearn (CRITICAL STEP): Do NOT skip this. Your truck will not start until this is done.
    • Turn the key to the “ON” position (do not start the engine).
    • Observe the “Security” or lock symbol light on the dash. It will be on or flashing.
    • Leave the key in the “ON” position for approximately 10-11 minutes. The security light will turn off.
    • Turn the key to “OFF” for 10 seconds.
    • Repeat this cycle two more times for a total of three 10-minute cycles.
    • After the third cycle is complete, the vehicle has learned the new PCM. Turn the key off, then start the engine. It should now run normally.
