Is Your Truck Running Rough? Get a Reliable, Programmed Solution.

If you’re dealing with a persistent check engine light, erratic engine behavior, or a no-start condition in your GM truck or SUV, a failing Powertrain Control Module (PCM) is often the culprit. I’ve seen it hundreds of times in my shop: a good engine and transmission crippled by a faulty computer. This isn’t just a replacement part; it’s a professionally prepared, plug-and-play solution designed to restore your vehicle’s factory performance and reliability.

We take the guesswork and dealer hassle out of the equation. Before this module ships, we flash it with the latest GM-certified software, precisely matched to your vehicle using the VIN you provide. This ensures all systemsโ€”engine, transmission, and communicationsโ€”work together seamlessly, just as the manufacturer intended.

Why This Programmed PCM is the Right Choice

Choosing the correct electronic module is critical. An incorrect or non-programmed unit can cause more problems than it solves. Hereโ€™s why our process delivers peace of mind:

  • โœ” VIN-Matched Programming: We load the exact software for your vehicle’s specific options and systems.
  • โœ” Latest GM Updates: Your module arrives with all the latest drivability and performance enhancements from General Motors.
  • โœ” Direct-Fit Replacement: Guaranteed to fit and function correctly, compatible with service numbers 89017750, 12582605, 12589463, 12602802, 89017734, and 28042802.
  • โœ” No Dealer Required: Save time and money by avoiding a trip to the dealership for expensive programming.

From the Shop Floor: A Real-World Scenario

“A customer’s ’05 Silverado came in last week with the dreaded ‘Reduced Engine Power’ light and a laundry list of throttle-related codes. He had already replaced the throttle body and accelerator pedal with no luck. After confirming the wiring was good, we pinpointed the failure to the throttle actuator control (TAC) driver inside the original PCMโ€”a very common failure point on these P59 computers. We installed one of our VIN-programmed modules, performed the simple 10-minute security relearn, and the truck ran perfectly. It’s a textbook example of how this part directly solves a complex electronic issue.”

Solving Your 2003-2006 Avalanche 1500 PCM Problems

A failing PCM can manifest in numerous ways. If you’re experiencing any of the following, this module is your solution:

  • โœ” Persistent Check Engine Light (CEL) with various codes.
  • โœ” Engine stalling, stumbling, or misfiring.
  • โœ” Harsh or incorrect transmission shifting.
  • โœ” Complete no-start or intermittent starting issues.
  • โœ” Poor fuel economy and loss of power.
  • โœ” Communication errors with other vehicle modules.

Simple Installation: Get Back on the Road Fast

You don’t need to be a master technician to install this part. Follow these simple steps. After installation, you will need to perform a security relearn procedure, which takes about 10-15 minutes and requires only your key.

  1. Safety First: Disconnect the negative terminal from your vehicle’s battery.
  2. Locate the PCM: On most of these trucks and SUVs, it’s found in the engine bay on the driver’s side, under or next to the battery tray.
  3. Disconnect Connectors: Carefully unclip and remove the wiring harness connectors from the old PCM. Inspect the terminals for any corrosion or damage and clean them if necessary.
  4. Remove Old Module: Unbolt the old PCM from its mounting bracket and remove it from the vehicle.
  5. Install New Module: Mount your new, programmed PCM and securely reconnect the wiring harnesses. Ensure they click into place.
  6. Reconnect Battery: Reattach the negative battery terminal.
  7. Perform Security Relearn: Turn the key to the ‘ON’ position for 10 minutes, then ‘OFF’ for 10 seconds. Repeat this cycle three times. On the fourth cycle, the vehicle should start, and the security light will be off.
