Real-World Repair Story
How do I provide my VIN for programming?
After you complete your purchase, simply send us a message with your 17-digit Vehicle Identification Number (VIN). We cannot ship the module until we receive this information.
Is this a plug-and-play part?
Yes, for the most part. Because we program it to your VIN, it eliminates the need for a dealer scan tool. However, you will need to perform a simple security relearn procedure, which involves a series of key cycles as outlined in the installation steps.
Will this fix my specific problem?
This PCM is a direct solution for module-related failures, which cause symptoms like no-start conditions, stalling, and specific diagnostic trouble codes (DTCs). While it solves many common issues, always ensure a proper diagnosis has been performed first.
What is the difference between a PCM and an ECM?
The terms are often used interchangeably. PCM (Powertrain Control Module) is more accurate as it typically controls both the engine and the transmission. ECM (Engine Control Module) is an older term that sometimes refers to a module that only controls the engine.
Do I need to send my old module back?
No core charge or return is required for this part. You can recycle your old module locally.
