Is Your Truck Showing These Signs of BCM Failure?
Why do you need my VIN number?
Your Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) allows us to load the exact, factory-correct software and calibrations for your specific vehicle’s options. This ensures seamless integration and proper function of all body electronics, making the installation process as simple as possible.
What does a Body Control Module (BCM) actually do?
The BCM acts as the central computer for your vehicle’s body-related accessories. It controls functions like power windows, power locks, interior and exterior lighting, the security system, wipers, and often communicates with the radio and climate controls.
Is this part difficult to install for a DIYer?
The physical replacement is straightforward for someone with basic mechanical skills. It’s typically located under the dash and involves unplugging connectors and removing a few bolts. Since we pre-program the module, you avoid the most difficult part of the job—the software flashing.
What if the airbag light comes on after I install it?
This can happen occasionally. It simply means the new BCM needs to be electronically ‘introduced’ to the airbag system’s computer (SDM). A repair shop or a technician with a high-level scan tool can perform the ‘Setup SDM Primary Key in BCM’ procedure in a few minutes to resolve this.
Do I need to send my old BCM back?
No. There is no core charge for this part. You can keep your original module, which saves you the time and hassle of return shipping.
