Restore Peak Performance to Your GM Truck or SUV

Is your 2017-2018 Sierra Denali 1500, or another compatible GM vehicle, suffering from frustrating and costly engine problems? Symptoms like a persistent check engine light, erratic shifting, poor fuel economy, or even a no-start condition often point directly to a failing Engine Control Module (ECM). As the central computer for your engine, a faulty ECM can disrupt every aspect of your vehicle’s performance. This isn’t just an inconvenience; it’s a critical failure that needs a reliable solution.

The Direct-Fit, Programmed Solution

This is a genuine replacement ECM, part number 12674052, that arrives at your door programmed with the latest official GM software specifically for your vehicle’s VIN. We take the guesswork and the expensive dealership trip out of the equation. By providing your VIN at checkout, you ensure this module is a perfect match for your vehicle’s specific calibration files, restoring factory function and communication between all onboard systems.

“A customer’s 2017 Sierra 1500 came in last week with a random misfire code that just wouldn’t clear. He had already replaced plugs, wires, and two ignition coils. After hooking up my diagnostic scanner and monitoring the injector pulse width, I noticed the signal for cylinder 3 was erratic. The issue wasn’t the injector itself, but the driver circuit inside the original ECM. We installed one of our VIN-programmed modules, performed the crankshaft variation relearn, and the truck ran perfectly. It’s a classic case where the problem lies with the ‘brain,’ not the ‘body’ parts.”

Why Choose Our VIN-Programmed ECM?

  • โœ” VIN-Specific Programming: We flash the module with the newest GM calibrations for your exact vehicle, ensuring seamless integration.
  • โœ” Restores Original Function: Eliminates common failure symptoms like false sensor codes, poor idle, and transmission communication errors.
  • โœ” Broad Compatibility: A direct replacement for multiple part numbers, including 12692068, 12704476, and 12686382.
  • โœ” Cost-Effective Repair: Avoids the high labor costs and programming fees associated with a dealership visit.

Important Post-Installation Requirements

Please be aware that while we handle the main programming, modern vehicles require security handshakes between modules. Upon installation, if your vehicle does not start, a Vehicle Theft Deterrent System (VTDS) relearn is required. This is a standard security procedure. Additionally, other system initializations like a crankshaft position variation relearn or injector flow rate programming may be necessary to ensure optimal performance. These procedures must be completed by the installer using a professional-grade scan tool with access to GM’s TIS2Web or Techline Connect software. This is the responsibility of the end-user or their chosen mechanic.

Installation Guide for Your 2017-2018 Sierra ECM

  1. Safety First: Disconnect the negative terminal from your vehicle’s battery and secure it away from the post to prevent accidental reconnection.
  2. Locate the ECM: On most Sierra and Silverado models, the ECM is located in the engine compartment on the driver’s side, near the firewall or inner fender.
  3. Disconnect Connectors: Carefully release the locking tabs on the electrical connectors and pull them straight out from the module. Never force them. Inspect the pins for any corrosion or damage.
  4. Remove the Old Module: Unbolt the old ECM from its mounting bracket. There are typically two or three bolts holding it in place.
  5. Install the New ECM: Mount the new module securely onto the bracket and reconnect the electrical connectors, ensuring they click firmly into place.
  6. Reconnect Battery: Reattach the negative battery terminal.
  7. Perform Relearns: Follow the crucial post-installation steps mentioned above to initialize the module and synchronize it with your vehicle’s security system.
