Is Your Work Van Down? Get Back on the Job Fast.
For a business owner, a 2005-2007 GMC Savana 3500 isn’t just a vehicle; it’s a critical tool. When it’s sidelined with a bad Powertrain Control Module (PCM), every hour of downtime costs you money. If you’re dealing with a persistent Check Engine Light, erratic engine performance, harsh shifting, or a frustrating no-start condition, a failing PCM is the likely culprit. Don’t let a faulty computer put a stop to your workflow. This is the reliable, straightforward solution you need.
This isn’t just a replacement part; it’s a complete, ready-to-install solution. We take a genuine GM module and flash it with the very latest, most stable software calibration from General Motors, specifically matched to your van’s Vehicle Identification Number (VIN). This ensures perfect communication between the engine, transmission, and all other vehicle systems, restoring the performance and reliability you depend on.
From the Shop Floor: A Real-World Scenario
“A customer’s ’06 Savana 3500 came in last week with a persistent P0601 (Internal Control Module Memory Check Sum Error) that wouldn’t clear, and it was shifting hard from first to second. After verifying the power and grounds at the PCM connectors were solid—a critical first step—we knew the module itself had failed internally. This is a common failure point I’ve seen on hundreds of these GM work vans, often due to heat cycles and vibration. We installed one of our pre-programmed modules, performed the security relearn, and had him back on the road in under an hour. He was thrilled to avoid a costly tow to the dealer and days of lost work.”

Simple Installation Guide
You can get your Savana back in service with basic hand tools. For the 2005-2007 Savana vans, the PCM is located in the engine compartment on the driver’s side, towards the rear.
- Safety First: Always disconnect the negative terminal from your vehicle’s battery before starting any electrical work.
- Locate the PCM: Find the module in the driver’s side rear of the engine bay. It will have several large wiring harness connectors attached.
- Disconnect the Harnesses: Carefully release the locking tabs on each electrical connector and pull them straight out from the module. Never force them. Inspect the pins for any corrosion or damage.
- Remove the Old Module: Unbolt the PCM from its mounting bracket and remove it from the vehicle.
- Install the New PCM: Mount your new, pre-programmed module in place and securely tighten the bolts. Reconnect the wiring harnesses, ensuring they click firmly into place.
- Reconnect the Battery: Re-attach the negative battery terminal.
- Perform Security Relearn: You will need to perform the GM Security Relearn Procedure (also known as the Passlock or Anti-Theft Relearn). This typically involves turning the key to the ‘ON’ position for 10 minutes, then ‘OFF’ for 10 seconds, and repeating this cycle three times. The vehicle should then start and run normally.
Important: After you complete your purchase, please send us a message with your vehicle’s 17-digit VIN. We cannot program and ship your module without it. This ensures you receive a part that is 100% correct for your van.
