Is Your GM Truck or Van Acting Possessed?
Are you dealing with flickering lights, power windows with a mind of their own, a security light that won’t turn off, or a vehicle that refuses to start? These frustrating and unpredictable electrical gremlins often point to one component: a failing Body Control Module (BCM). In many 2003-2007 GM vehicles, the BCM is the central hub for body electronics, and when it fails, it can cause chaos. This isn’t just an inconvenience; it can be a major roadblock to using your vehicle reliably. Don’t let a faulty module keep you sidelined. Restore full electrical functionality and peace of mind with our professionally programmed BCM.
From the Shop Floor: “A customer’s 2005 Silverado came into my bay last week with a laundry list of bizarre symptoms—the radio would change stations on its own, the dome light would stay on, and the horn would randomly honk. He’d already replaced the battery and checked fuses. After a quick scan, I suspected the BCM. A common failure point on these trucks is water intrusion from a degraded windshield seal, which drips right onto the BCM. We swapped in a pre-programmed module just like this one, and it solved every single issue instantly. It’s a textbook failure I’ve seen hundreds of times.”

Installation Guide
Installing your new 2003-2007 GM BCM is a straightforward process that a confident DIYer can handle. Location varies between trucks (under the steering column) and vans (center of the dash).
- Safety First: Disconnect the negative terminal from your vehicle’s battery.
- Locate the BCM: On Silverado/Sierra pickups, it’s typically under the driver’s side dash, near the steering column. On Express/Savana vans, it’s located in the center of the dash.
- Remove Connectors: Carefully unplug all electrical connectors from the old BCM. The levers on the connectors must be fully released before they will pull out.
- Swap the Module: Unbolt or unclip the old BCM and remove it. Install the new module in its place.
- Reconnect Everything: Plug all electrical connectors firmly into the new BCM. Reconnect the negative battery terminal.
Important Post-Installation Steps
After installing your new BCM, a couple of crucial relearn procedures are necessary to ensure all systems operate correctly. These steps require a professional-grade bidirectional scan tool.
- Airbag System (SRS): The ‘Setup SDM Primary Key in BCM’ procedure must be performed. This syncs the new BCM with the airbag module and will clear the airbag warning light on the dash.
- Brake Pedal Position: Some vehicles require a Brake Pedal Position Sensor recalibration to ensure proper brake light operation and communication with other systems.
Note: If you are not equipped to perform these procedures, we strongly recommend seeking assistance from a qualified technician.
