Expert Pro Tip: Check Your Grounds First!
Before you condemn your PCM, do a voltage drop test on your main battery and engine grounds. On these GM trucks, a corroded or loose ground strap (especially the one from the engine block to the firewall or frame) can mimic PCM failure by causing low voltage and communication errors. I’ve saved customers hundreds of dollars with a $10 ground strap and a wire brush. Always verify the foundation before replacing the component.

Installation Note
